Reiki, pronounced (ray-key), is a Japanese word, “Rei” meaning “universal” or “God force” and “Ki” meaning “life-force energy.” This describes the abundant energy that sustains all living things. Any naturally occurring illness can be attributed to the human body having a severed connection from this infinite reservoir.

Application of this particular vibration of energy was rediscovered by a Buddhist monk by the name of Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800s’, after setting out on a quest to discover how it was Christ was able to heal.

Reiki is a multi- dimensional, healing on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, getting to the root cause of problems rather than the symptoms like the pharmaceutical industries.

Other natural therapies such as Shiatsu, Acupuncture and Reflexology, clear energy pathways, (meridians) in the body through physical manipulation. Reiki works on an energetic level downwards through all the levels described above. No physical manipulation is involved.

The practitioner usually administers treatments by placing his/her hands lightly on or over the client’s body, making Reiki particularly popular amongst women. It is non-intrusive and convenient as it involves no undressing. Reiki is a very simple but powerful healing technique that is easily given, received and learnt by anyone at anytime.
